GemStar & AGC Display Day 2024

DGC will be holding our annual DISPLAY DAY on SATURDAY 1ST AND SUNDAY 2ND JUNE

Who is this event for?
This is an event for all gymnasts in MiniGems, Gemstar, Development and Squads. This is held in our venue in Somerville.

What is the day all about?
Gymnasts perform skills individually in a mini circuit format showcasing their skills on each apparatus. This event is about celebrating our gymnasts, participation and gymnasts doing their personal best. All gymnasts will receive an award certificate with coloured banded stickers and DGC medal.

What happens on the day?
Each session will be run with 4 groups.

  • Each group will rotate around the 4 apparatus (Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor) and gymnast will perform their routine.

  • Efforts are made for groups to be with their regular class coach however as coaches take multiple groups (sometimes groups of the same level) this isn’t always possible.

  • Coaches will encourage gymnast to perform one at a time however they can set a structure that each gymnast is comfortable with for their performance e.g. individual, in pairs, instructed or with the coach if need be.

  • Sessions for these gymnasts will run for roughly 1.5 hours.

  • Food and cold drink items will be available from the canteen/BBQ.

What awards are given?
Every gymnast will be recognised individually for their participation with a medal and certificate. Gymnasts will receive banded stickers on their certificates (Bronze, Silver or Gold) based on a gymnast’s individual performance.

How do I know my exact session time over the weekend?
DGC has allocated each gymnast to a session time, sent out via sms and email. If you are unsure of the session time you have been allocated to please contact the DGC office.
